A 4.8-magnitude earthquake rattled Egypt’s south Sinai Peninsula on Sunday.
The tremor lasted some seven seconds without causing any damage.
Adel Kasab, head of South Sinai’s crisis and emergency management centre, said the quake’s epicentre was located just north of the coastal resort city of Sharm Al-Sheikh.
In June of last year, a 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck roughly 20 kilometres southwest of Sharm Al-Sheikh.
