Suzanne Mubarak’s heath stable: Egyptian health minister

The health condition of Egyptian former President Hosni Mubarak’s wife Suzanne Thabet is stable on Saturday, a day after she was admitted to the Sharm el-Sheikh International Hospital, said Egyptian Health Minister Ashraf Hatem.

Hatem said her health was stable and she was under the control of police.

Suzanne suffered an unstable angina Friday and was moved to an intensive care unit of the hospital in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh after she knew of a decision by the Illicit Gains Authority to hold her in custody for 15 days pending investigation into accusations of corruption, according to state news agency MENA.

The Illicit Gains Authority under the Justice Ministry ordered earlier Friday her detention over charges that she abused her position to gain wealth illegally.

Hatem told a press conference Saturday that medical reports on the health developments of Mubarak, who was in the same hospital, are sent to the general prosecutor everyday.

He was taken to the hospital on April 12 after he suffered a heart attack when he was first questioned by prosecutors for investigation.
