Military sources have said that the troops of the central Cairo region have been deployed in the capital to secure demonstrators against any hostile acts.
Military spokesperson Ahmed Mohamed Ali had said on the official Facebook page that the general command of the armed forces was meeting on Wednesday with a number of political, religious, and youth figures, and that a statement would be issued after the meeting.
The armed forces had granted political leaders 48 hours to agree on a clear roadmap to respond to demonstrators’ demands.
