Egypt’s President Morsi meets Pakistani foreign minister

Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi on Wednesday received Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani at the presidential palace in Cairo.

Rabbani, who arrived in the Egyptian capital on Wednesday morning for a days-long visit, presented Morsi with an official invitation to attend an upcoming summit of the Developing 8 (D-8) group of countries slated for 19 to 21 November in Islamabad.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr also attended the meeting with Rabbani.

It is the first visit to Egypt by a ranking Pakistani government official since Morsi assumed the presidency in June.
