Security forces have arrested former MP and opposition figure Hamdy El-Fakhrany at a checkpoint in Beheira Governorate while he was visiting the area.
The general prosecution has already issued an arrest warrant for El-Fakhrany, who is being accused of inciting violence in the Delta city of Mahalla during clashes that took place in the past two months.
The Muslim Brotherhood has already accused El-Fakhrany of hiring thugs and burning down the Brotherhood branch office in Mahalla.
