A 20-year-old student committed suicide by throwing himself off Cairo Tower Saturday, according to police reports.
The young man was a student at the American University in Cairo and according to initial investigations suffered from psychological problems.
A lack of accurate records makes suicide rates in Egypt largely unknown, yet recurrent media reports of suicides the recent months indicate they may have increased.
