A power plant in the Nile Delta city of Daqahiliya had a minor explosion Wednesday when the air compressor was blown off, killing one worker, Al Ahram Arabic news website reported.
Mahmoud al-Naqib, head of Middle Delta Electricity Production Company, said the explosion in the electricity plant in Talkha happened during the maintenance of a production unit. The worker on it was immediately killed.
Al-Naqib told Al Ahram Arabic news website the power plant suffered no other damages from the explosion, which is yet to be investigated.
