Nasr City Misdemeanor Court on Monday sentenced Sports Minister Taher Abu Zeid to a year in prison, removed him from office and fined him LE10,000 for not implementing a court ruling invalidating the elections of the Shooting Club.
Forteen members of the club won a lawsuit they had filed before the Administrative Court, demanding the invalidity of the elections, but the minister declined to carry out the verdict, which prompted them to sue him personally.
