Six open fire at police in Maadi metro

Six Muslim Brotherhood members opened fire on policemen in a metro station in the southern Cairo neighborhood of Maadi on Saturday.

The six were escaping from confrontation with the police when they descended to the metro station and opened fire, Chairman of the Egyptian Company for Metro Management and Operation Abdullah Fawzy told MENA. The police took control of the situation and arrested the six.

Meanwhile, Fawzy denied reports about finding a bomb in Mohamed Naguib metro station in Downtown Cairo. Security forces found an abandoned bag holding a shirt, cell phone and a power adapter but no explosives, he stressed.
