Security tightened ahead of pro-MB protests

Streets witnessed extensive security measures in the surroundings of Ithadeya Palace and Yusuf al-Sabahy Mosque in Heliopolis on Friday morning, amid calls for demonstrations by Muslim Brotherhood supporters.

Central Security Forces provided 18 vehicles to transport soldiers, and 6 armored vehicles to combat riots. The Republic Guard forces were posted in Merghani Street, with 8 vehicles and barbed wire.

A state of calm prevailed in the surroundings of Yusuf al-Sahaby Mosque at Hegaz Mosque prior to the anticipated protests, set to take place after Friday prayers. However, there was a noted absence of Nozha Police Station security forces.
