Swine flu kills 16 in Egypt – health ministry

Egypt’s health ministry has announced that 172 people have been diagnosed with swine flu this winter while 16 have died as a result of the virus.

Health Minister Maha al-Rabat told a state newspaper that the deceased do not include doctors.

She added that some doctors were diagnosed, but are in stable condition.

The World Health Organization has confirmed the news, explaining that it is working with the Egyptian authorities to monitor the situation.
