Al-Watan Newspaper CEO Mohamed al-Amin halted the issuing of the newspaper that was set to be distributed early Thursday, for publishing a false report about Minister of Defense Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.
Sources inside the paper said that the report contained false information about Sisi’s financial obligations.
The sources added that the report caused an uproar, resulting in the halting of the paper edition’s release after the printing of 50,000 copies.
The report has been removed from the paper and the front page was changed, and the paper’s morning edition will be published without the report.
