The sale of some prohibited fish containing poisonous substances, rendering them unfit for consumption, persists in markets despite the state banning their sale or possession, Youm7 reported Wednesday.
Director of the Supply Investigation General Department Medhat el-Aasar told Youm7 that Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim has issued instructions intensifying supervisory campaigns on markets to check the quality of the products, confirm their source of origin and deal with any violators.
Supply Minister Mohamed Abu Shady told Youm7 that samples are constantly taken from the fish in the markets for analysis to ensure the quality of products, and to confiscate any unfit products and take legal action against the owners.
