Fourteen killed in minivan crash in southern Egypt – sources

Fourteen people were killed when a minivan and a truck crashed into each other late on Saturday in the southern Egyptian province of Minya, medical and security sources said.

Egypt has one of the world’s highest rates of road and railway accidents, due to careless driving and the condition of roads and vehicles. Hundreds die and thousands are injured in traffic accidents every year.
