Ambulance Organization: Clashes toll rises to 235 dead, 2001 injured

sit-in9The toll of clashes that occurred in several Egyptian governorates on Wednesday rose to 235 dead and 2,001 injured, an Egyptian Ambulance Organization official said. The injuries ranged from gunshots and shotgun pellets to cases of fainting, said Mohamed Sultan, head of the organization. The people injured in Cairo and Giza were taken to al-Qasr al-Aini Hospitals, Omm al-Masriyeen, Manyal, Shorta, Madinet Nasr, and Heliopolis hospitals as well as several others, the Middle East News Agency reported. Police and army forces launched a crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood’s protest camps to clear out the sit-ins at Rabaa al-Adaweya and Nahda Squares on Wednesday morning.
