The Armed Forces blocked off Khalifa Maamoun Street and all roads leading to the Ministry of Defense headquarters in anticipation of the Muslim Brotherhood protests and the April 6 Youth Movement on the January 25 Revolution anniversary Saturday morning.
These procedures were made a day after a series of bombings in Egypt, including a massive explosion at the Cairo Security Directorate, which killed four policemen on Friday morning.
A large explosion was also heard in Hadayeq el-Qobba in Cairo early Saturday, according to eye witnesses who said they saw heavy smoke after the explosion. No causalities were reported yet.
A state of panic spread among the residents of Hadayeq el-Qobba and the electricity blacked out in most of the area districts, the witnesses added.
