Army secures Tahrir Square entrances

Security and military presence intensified on Friday in Tahrir Square prior to Friday prayers in preparation for the protests against the military planned by the Islamist National Coalition to Support Legitimacy, reported the state-owned news agency.

Four armored military vehicles were stationed at the entrance to Tahrir Square from the Egyptian Museum’s side to secure the area.

Two armored police vehicles were also stationed at Kasr al-Nil Bridge, and four armored vehicles at Mohamed Mahmoud street.

Central Security Forces were positioned in all streets leading to Cairo’s most vital square.
