Egypt’s Prosecutor General, Hisham Barakat, has been injured in a bomb attack, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
A security source told Al-Ahram that the prosecutor’s convoy was hit near the military academy in Heliopolis.
Barakat reportedly has a broken nose and a dislocated shoulder. He is being treated at Al-Nozha hospital in Heliopolis.
Two members of the security forces and one civilian were also injured in the attack, state news agency MENA reported.
