Doctors’ Syndicate blames Ministry of Health for death of four physicians

Chairman of the Doctors’ Syndicate Khairy Abdel Dayem held the Ministry of Health’s hospitals responsible, after the death of a fourth physician due to a severe strain of pneumonia, accusing the ministry of being lenient in infection control procedures.

Abdel Dayem told Youm7 that the syndicate contacted the ministry to take the necessary actions to avoid the infections, as it has led to the spread of swine flu.

Meanwhile member of the sub-syndicate in Cairo Mohamed Fatouh said that the death of four doctors will lead to the death of 4,000 patients of the same disease. He further stated that this reflects the level of degeneration in hospitals.

Fatouh called on the Ministry of Health to assume its responsibility towards its hospitals, and to ensure that they have the required level of infection control.
