Egypt to rehabilitate 16 Nile water gauge stations in Sudan

A delegation of the Egyptian Ministry of Irrigation has started the executive procedures of a project to renovate and rehabilitate 16 Nile water gauge stations in south Sudan.

The $5.7-million project comes within the framework of the Egyptian grant dedicated for technical cooperation with south Sudan.

Engineer Alaa Eddin Ibrahim, the Director General of south Nile Researches Department, said the project will be carried out on two stages: the 1st will include three stations at a total cost of $800,000. 75% of this stage has already completed, he said.
