EgyptAir asks passengers to be at airports four hours before flight

cairo_airportEgyptAir, the national carrier, called upon passengers to be present at airports four hours prior to their flights and to check their flight’s status, according to a recent press release by the Civil Aviation Ministry. The company confirmed that it has continued its normal operations with offering its facilities to passengers during a curfew that was imposed after the escalation of Egypt’s current political situation due clashes between allies of former president Mohamed Mursi and security forces. “The no-show percentage hasn’t exceeded 10 % and the company exempts passengers from the change fees due to any traffic-related reasons,” the press release said. “During the last four days, national carrier EgyptAir has been operating daily flights normally from Cairo Airport and other Egyptian Airports without any cancellations and with minor delays, and the Egyptian airspace is open for regular air traffic,” EgyptAir holding chairman and Chief Executive Officer Hossam Kamal said. “Beverages and meals are offered for arriving passengers who are not able to reach their homes during the hours of the curfew,” Kamal added.
