Egyptian actress sentenced to 3 years for ‘inciting debauchery’

CAIRO: A Cairo misdemeanor court on Saturday has sentenced an Egyptian actress and four other co-defendants to three years in jail over charges of inciting debauchery, Youm7 reported.

The court has accepted an appeal submitted by Egypt’s prosecution against an earlier first-instance ruling that acquitted actress Ghada Ibrahim and the other defendants in the same case.

The court also fined Ibrahim and another defendant 300 EGP ($30) each.

Ibrahim was arrested on Feb. 28 over inciting debauchery charges. However, she and other four defendants were acquitted o March 17.
