Egyptian prosecution refers judge to trial for shooting dead student in Cairo

Egypt’s prosecutor-general Nabil Sadek on Thursday referred a judge to criminal court for killing a student in Cairo earlier this month, Al-Ahram Arabic website reported.

The appeal court judge was accused of killing 23-year-old Momen Saad Agha, a German University in Cairo student who was completing his compulsory military service, during an altercation in the Nasr City district.

According to news reports the judge shot the victim when Agha attempted to stop him from assaulting his fiancée, who the judge had accused of being a thief.
