Egypt’s FM Shoukry arrives in Jordan on first stop of Arab tour

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry arrived in the Jordanian capital of Amman on Sunday, beginning a three-day tour of Arab states to discuss regional developments, Egypt’s state-run MENA news agency reported.
Minister Shoukry is set to meet with Jordan’s King Abdullah II later on Sunday.

The official trip will include Jordan, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, where Shoukry will convey messages from Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to the leaders of the six Arab states.

The minister’s tour serves the framework of ongoing consultation between Egypt and other Arab states, especially in light of ongoing political developments in Lebanon and wider challenges in the region, according to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
