Eight people were killed, including one Syrian, after a tour bus crashed into a parked pickup truck near Beba, Beni Suef.
Officials said the bus was heading south from Cairo to Minya on the East Desert road. Police said speed and foggy conditions were factors in the crash.
At least 24 others were injured. They were taken to Beni Suef General Hospital.
Magdy al-Betity, Beni Suef’s governor, visited the injured at the hospital and vowed to provide them with all necessary support.
