Electricity consumption 5.6% higher than last year

The Electricity Ministry said that electricity use this year was 5.6 percent higher than last year, calling on citizens to rationalize consumption, especially in the the peak hours, between 7 pm and 10 pm.
However, the ministry said it expects a surplus of 2,000 megawatts for Saturday, due to the regular supply of fuel and the opening of new power stations.
It said the maximum consumption on Friday reached 26,100 megawatts, while the lowest one was 20,000 megawatts.
