The General Directorate of Electricity Police seized 4,076 cases of stolen electricity lines, in a security campaign launched Thursday to stop electricity violations.
The Directorate issued a statement that within 24 hours 18 cases of stolen major electricity lines were stopped, and 4,076 cases of normal electricity lines, with 25 cases violating the terms of contract.
In addition they stated that they were able to collect 3,527 fines for stealing electricity lines. In terms of legal procedures, 450 cases of imprisonment on misdemeanor charges were carried out, and the necessary legal procedures have been taken towards each incident individually, according to the statement.
