A huge fire erupted at an oil warehouse in Central Cairo on Thursday, encircling the neighbourhood with thick smoke, a civil protection official said.
Mamdouh Abdel Qader, director of the civil protection administration in Cairo, told Aswat Masriya the burning warehouse is in Cairo’s Darb al-Ahmar district, near the Azhar Mosque.
Authorities dispatched 15 fire trucks to put down the fire, which remains aflame, Abdel Qader said.
