Kuwaiti envoy to visit Cairo to deliver message to Egypt’s Sisi on Qatar issue

Kuwait’s deputy prime minister, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, will arrive in Cairo on Monday to deliver a message to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi from the Kuwaiti emir, MENA agency reported.

The Kuwaiti envoy will arrive in Cairo from Riyadh, where he will have been delivering a message from Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia.

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain severed diplomatic ties with Qatar on June 5, accusing the Gulf state of supporting terrorism, which Doha denies.

Kuwait has been acting as a mediator since the beginning of the crisis.

At a meeting on 29-30 July in Manama, the four countries gathered to coordinate their stances against Qatar.
