Min. of Electricity urges rationing consumption to avoid outages

Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker urged citizens to ration their use of electricity consumption to avoid repeated power outages, in a Wednesday interview with CBC.

Shaker said the ministry would establish new electricity plants to provide 3000 megawatts in Banha, North Giza and 6 October City.

Shaker added that some factories and companies’ consumption does not commensurate with what they are paying, adding that turning off one lamp in each house may save 1,200 megawatts.
