Morsi murder trial resumes amid heavy security

An Egyptian criminal court resumed on Wednesday the trial of ousted President Mohamed Mursi and his aides over violence that took place by the Ittihadiya presidential palace.

The court will hold a hearing session for three prosecution witnesses, including the chief of the Republican Guards

Mursi and other Muslim Brotherhood senior members are being tried for inciting the killing of peaceful protesters by the presidential palace in Heliopolis on December 5 in 2012.

The court has set a hearing session on March 1 for a tripartite commission from the Radio and Television Union to provide its report on footage that it presented to the prosecution as evidence against Mursi and his aides during the violent clashes.
