Egypt’s Nile Sat channels gradually resumed their broadcasts Tuesday morning, a few hours after they were forced off-air by explosions at two electricity towers in the Egyptian Media Production City, Youm7 reported.
Seven improvised bombs went off at the main electricity towers feeding the city Monday at around 10:00 p.m. causing a break in the broadcast of the Nile Sat channels that lasted until the early hours of Tuesday. No casualties have been reported.
Power was cut to the center, forcing several TV channels including CBC, Dream and Cairo Centric to go off air through the night. The perpetrators remain unknown.
Security sources told Sky News Arabia TV they accused militant jihadi group Ajnad Misr (Soldiers of Egypt.)
