The Presidential Elections Commission (PEC) will review appeals against the electoral process by leftist contender Hamdeen Sabahi on Sunday. PEC received challenges against the presidential election’s provisional results from the legal advisor for Sabahi’s campaign on Saturday. Sabahi questioned the preliminary figures of the voter turnout and the results but he acknowledged losing the elections in a press conference on Thursday. Lawyer Tarek Negeida demanded the annexation of the provisional ballot count and comparing it to the number of ballot cards that were printed. The PEC is expected to announce the final results the coming Tuesday or Wednesday.
