Police break up Brotherhood sit-in at Cairo’s Ain Shams

Police forces have begun breaking up a Muslim Brotherhood sit-in shortly after it was staged in Cairo’s Ain Shams on Friday.

Television footage showed the police hurling teargas bombs at the demonstrators while a fire was raging in the middle of the street.

Na’aam Square witnessed clashes between some local residents and Brotherhood elements, a security official said.

Security forces intervened to put an end to the clashes between the two parties, he added.
