Groups in support of the Muslim Brotherhood called Monday for demonstrations on the third anniversary of the Friday of Anger.
In a Facebook statement, groups said “the road is full of blood, sacrifice, and time is in our favor,” adding that the roadmap would not be achieved.
The political roadmap, announced in early July after the ouster of Mohamed Morsi, set the timeline for the new constitution as well as presidential and parliamentary elections. The constitution was adopted in a referendum on Jan. 14 and 15, but groups in support of the Muslim Brotherhood do not recognize the interim government, and have labeled the events of June 30 a coup.
The Friday of Anger occurred on Jan. 28, 2011, and witnessed numerous violent clashes across Cairo and other cities. Estimates vary, but at least hundreds were killed and many thousands injured in confrontations between protestors and security forces.
