Retired doctor arrested for contempt of religions, embracing Shiite sect

Doctor was arrested for contempt of religions and embracing the Shiite sect.

Prosecution ordered arrest of a retired doctor, 61, living in Mit Zanqar village.

Inspecting the doctor’s house, several books and 18 CDs on Shiite sect and photo in a frame for Hassan Nasrallah, head of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah were found and seized.

The majority of Egyptians are Sunnis. Egypt imposes restrictions on Shiite traditions.
