KAFR EL-SHEIKH, Egypt: A suspected H1N1 patient died on Monday early morning in Kafr el-Sheikh General Hospital, doctors are waiting for the results of the diagnostic tests. The patient was isolated in the hospital since February 16.
Another case of suspected H1N1 infection, commonly known as swine flu, was transferred to the Fever Hospital, while an uncle and his 7-months-old nephew were put in isolation because of a possible swine flu. The uncle was found clear of H1N1 and went home, his nephew remained in the hospital.
Three cases suspected to have H1N1 were also released from the hospital as lab results showed that they were not infected.
All previous patients that came into the hospital with possible swine flu had negative results as well and left the hospital. Besides, lab results showed that the cause of death of 36-years-old woman was not H1N1 as suspected, but instead a severe inflammation of her respiratory system and a resulting stoppage of her cardiac muscles.
