An official source said bomb experts from the Giza Security Directorate defused on Tuesday evening three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) placed at a Saliba checkpoint close to the Smart Village on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road.
Security services combed the area and cordoned off the shopping malls.
