Minister of Tourism, Hesham Zazou stressed importance of the Italian market for the Egyptian tourism, saying it occupies the fourth position among the top five markets exporting tourism to Egypt.
Minister Zazou pointed out that the figures of Italian market show a constant increase, where the Number of Italian tourists coming to Egypt in 2012 reached 719 thousand visitors with an increase of 29 percent compared to 2011.
In a statement, the Minister told the Italian media outlets that the Italians played a leading role in attracting attention to the Egyptian touristic destinations, especially Sharm El-Sheikh, Marsa Alam and Marsa Matrouh. He expressed confidence that the security position will improve in Egypt soon, referring to a plan for securing the touristic places in Egypt.
For their part, all Italian tour operators said they will never stop trips to Egypt because it is still the favorite touristic destination for the Italian tourists.
