Two Alexandrian ports closed due to bad weather

The Alexandria Port Authority shut down on Saturday the Bughazi and Dakheila ports due to bad weather conditions, state news agency MENA reported.

Wind speeds exceeded 25 knots per hour, causing high waves in the Mediterranean.

“The two ports were closed to prevent ships from colliding with each other or with the ports’ docks,” Port Authority spokesman Reda El-Ghandour told MENA.

It is not yet known when the ports will reopen.

Temperatures in Alexandria on Saturday are expected to reach highs of 15 degrees Celsius and lows of 5 degrees.
