Worker protests cropping up across Cairo

Although political protests have wrapped up, thousands of state workers are now taking to the streets, demanding better wages and working conditions.

In their latest decree, military council called on Egyptians to return to work for the sake of the country’s economy.

Many labourers – including ambulance drivers, police and hotel workers – have pressed for better working conditions and higher salaries since the government collapsed.

Small demonstrations continue to sprout up all over Cairo, showing the spirit of the revolution has continued despite military efforts to take back the streets.
