Unidentified assailants set fire to a police car on Friday by throwing Molotov cocktails into it while it was stopped at a maintenance workshop, according to an official statement.
Minya Security Director Osama Metwally received a report that the assailants threw Molotov cocktails into the police car below a bridge at a workshop. No deaths occurred.
Citizens and civil protection units were able to put out the fire before it burned the whole car.
The Security Director ordered the formation of an investigation team to arrest the perpetrators immediately. A report was filed and referred to the prosecution.
