Child dead, five injured in Qena building collapse

A child was killed and five people were injured after a two-storey house built with bricks collapsed in Qena governorate.

Civil defense forces, with the help of residents, attempted to rescue another worker and a child from under the rubble.

The incident resulted in the death of three-year-old Sama G. and the injury of 17-year-old Alaa F., 16-year-old Mohamed N., 7-month-old Basmala G. and 38-year-old Sabreen F. with bruises as well as the injury of Alaa S. with suffocation as he was rescuing the injured.

The narrow street prevented the civil defense equipment and vehicles from reaching the collapsed property. They instead relied on light equipment to lift the rubble and rescue the victims.
